Stark News
All right, look around and remember where you were when you heard the news that Representative Pete Stark is openly atheist, the first one in American history!
I highly recommend you send him a positive message before the righteous backlash begins.
Whatever his politics may be, you have to admire his courage.

This is awesome. I hope that more people come out like this. My husband was joking the other day about how I’d never be able to run for office now that I have an atheist bumper sticker (WWJD: Who Wants Jelly Donuts?) on my car.

Thanks, Lynn’s Daughter, your comment has given me an idea for a new post!

Starr King School of Ministry…ok, this may be a dumb question, but…what is this? If he is an atheist why is he a board member on this? Is this a religious
organization or am I completely wrong?

I am so glad Stark came out when he was elected. We (atheists) are considered to be the new gays. We have a way to go and this is a big step in the right direction. I live in Texas and the Texas Constitution states that to be elected to office one must acknowledge the presence of a god. I wonder if the spaghetti monster counts?
