Cartoon Wars

Did anyone see South Park this week? (If you have it recorded and are planning to watch it, don’t read any further)

There was big controversy in this Colorado town because “The Family Guy” had an episode coming up that was going to show the prophet Mohammed in support of the Danish newspaper!! Fox censored Mohammed out, but there was still rioting and violence all over the Muslim world.
Then, the producers of “The Family Guy” demanded they re-air the episode censor-free. Fox caves in and again, there is chaos.
South Park wants to show the Muslims that they are not taking part in this horrible event and they decide that the best way to show that they aren’t involved in seeing and hearing about Mohammed is to bury their heads in sand.

South Park was to be continued… Will Mohammed be shown in the next episode??

G’ bless you…

I knew it was coming one of these days. Yesterday, I sneezed and my oldest son said “G’ bless you!” My first thought was, “Wow!! Very impressive!” My second thought? “Who the hell taught him that?”

My husband and I don’t have a sneezing etiquette. We don’t say anything. We sneeze and get on with our lives. When it comes to the kids, we make a “WoooooOoOOOoO” sound and it makes them laugh. In our opinion, there is not reason for blessings from God. Now, I do say “Salut” or “gesundheit” when I’m in public or around family. I just do it to be polite. But we never really did that with the kids. I guess we’ll start now. I know that this came from school. I don’t want teachers to mistake the fact that he’s not saying “God bless you” for being rude.

So I explained to him that he didn’t have to say “God bless you” when I sneeze, but I thanked him. Then I introduced “salut” to him. It’s amazing. This would be the first time that he’s been exposed to the word “God,” and it was by his teachers.

Cultural Relativism??

In the comments of one of the previous posts on tolerance, Goose Henry posted this:

>A question:

>Do you think the nazi regime in Germany during the 30’s and 40’s was wrong?

Ok, point taken. If morality is relative (something that I believe) then who were we to go on into Germany and stop Hitler?

My answer to your question: Of course I think that the Third Reich was wrong. It was disgusting, and I think that the United States were absolutely right to go on in there and put a stop to it. Does that make me a hypocrite? Maybe, but I also think that it makes me human.

Here are a few other things to ponder:

Genocide in Darfur
Female Genital Mutilation in Africa
“Gendercide” in China and India

The above examples are just a tiny fraction of Human Rights Violations going on in the world.
Now a question for you:

Should the United States invade the above countries and start a war with them? If you say no, why not??

I wonder… If there was oil in these countries, would we step in then?

Impeach the Motherfucker Already

This is just great!! I ordered 3 buttons. :-)

It looks like this guy just started this up a month ago (at the most) and he’s getting inundated with orders for buttons and pins. Shipping is free at this point, but in his recent post he talked about how the cost of shipping is catching up with him.

If you scroll down the page, you’ll find links to other ITMFA products and images. Enjoy!!
